upcoming meeting: regional IT expo March 30
Please set aside the date of March 30th for our first regional FLGISA IT Expo day in collaboration between the Central West and South West Districts! The event will be held in beautiful Sarasota on the waterfront. It will be held at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center.
Thanks to Herminio Rodriguez and the City of Sarasota for making this amazing venue available to us. There will be a keynote address by Gartner, lunch and light refreshments throughout the day. The event will take place between 10 AM and 2 PM. Come for the whole event or spend some time visiting with select vendors for demos and information. Meet with other FLGISA members, as well as non-members who can see the value that FLGISA can bring to their organizations.
More information will follow as we firm up details. If you know of any non-member government agencies, make a point to extend an invite; they can meet with members of FLGISA and get membership information. We will have a table to answer any questions for those interested in joining FLGISA. More details to follow, including special room rates at the Hyatt Regency next door.

The FLGISA provides enhanced networking and support through its six districts. Each district is led by an elected District Director who coordinates regional meetings and training throughout the year. Directors serve on the FLGISA Board, providing a voice for each district.
On September 22, 2016, the Central West District held its district meeting at Port Tampa Bay’s Cruise Terminal Two in Tampa Florida. The meeting featured Don Gulling, from Verteks Consulting, as one of the industry's subject matter expert in the area of Emerging Trends In IT and Security/Wire Fraud. His presentation was extremely engaging and captivating, and generated thought-provoking questions, as well as interest from several district members.
I’m sure Ray Desjardins, the SW District Director, has already addressed the collaborative effort the CW and SW District are engaged in by attempting to establish and organize a regional IT Expo. If this endeavor is successful and meaningful to the attendees and participates, then the additional exposure to FLGISA within the region will be a tremendous benefit.
