The NW District’s Fall meeting was on held Friday, November 3, 2017, at the Tallahassee Automobile and Collectibles Museum just east of Tallahassee. The meeting was a great opportunity to network with our peers in our district and be exposed to new ideas. The meeting included a round table discussion, the latest news from FLGISA, and two presentations.

Northeast
UPCOMING MEETING: TBD
The Northeast District is comprised of 19 counties; Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Clay, Columbia, Dixie, Duval, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Madison, Marion, Nassau, Putnam, Saint Johns, Suwannee, Taylor, and Union.
NE District meetings are held twice a year; midway between FLGISA conferences. Prior to a district meeting, a survey is sent to the district membership to help determine the meeting date and content. A follow-up survey is sent after the meeting to get feedback from the attendees. This formula has served us well in putting together successful meetings that benefit our members. If you have never attended a district meeting, I invite you to review the archived meeting documents, especially the feedback from the attendees, so you can see the value it would bring to your organization.

On October 3, 2019 the Central West district held a meeting at Pasco County.
On May 3, 2018 the Central and Southwest FLGISA Directors held our combined district spring event at the impressive Port Tampa Bay facility.
On September 22, 2016, the Central West District held its district meeting at Port Tampa Bay’s Cruise Terminal Two in Tampa Florida. The meeting featured Don Gulling, from Verteks Consulting, as one of the industry’s subject matter expert in the area of Emerging Trends In IT and Security/Wire Fraud. His presentation was extremely engaging and captivating, and generated thought-provoking questions, as well as interest from several district members.
I’m sure Ray Desjardins, the SW District Director, has already addressed the collaborative effort the CW and SW District are engaged in by attempting to establish and organize a regional IT Expo. If this endeavor is successful and meaningful to the attendees and participates, then the additional exposure to FLGISA within the region will be a tremendous benefit.

January 12, 2023
The first Central East district event in 2023 was a hybrid setup with members attending in-person in Port Orange as well as remote. The event, in partnership with R2 Unified Technologies and Rubrik, was very successful with 17 in-person attendees and 11 joining remotely. Topics focused on transitioning to VMWare Cloud Foundation for a full-stack hyperconverged infrastructure, VMWare VSX networking concepts, and Rubrik data-protection solutions.
April 19, 2018:
The Central East District held a meeting on April 19, 2018 at TopGolf Orlando. Topics discussed: Cybersecurity and How to Harden the Data Center (NetApp); Beyond Bots: Using AI to Enable Consistent Self Service (Genesys); Roundtable Discussion; Team Building
December 19, 2016:
The Central East District held a meeting on December 19, 2016 at SeaWorld Orlando. Topics discussed: Speaker Kevin Beaver discussed Encryption of Information at Rest and In Transit; Data Protection from the Inside Out (Sirius Computers/Varonis); Advanced Malware Protection (Cisco); Stop Ransomeware with Intercept-X (Sophos)
April 27, 2016:
The Central East District held a meeting on April 27, 2016 at the International Motorsports Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. Topics discussed: CISCO HyperFlex Roadshow; SCADA security lead by a 13+ year employee of Siemens Energy, Inc.; Tour of the Daytona Speedway Datacenter, track and facilities

Southeast
UPCOMING MEETING: TBD
The FLGISA provides enhanced networking and support through its six districts. Each district is led by an elected District Director who coordinates regional meetings and training throughout the year. Directors serve on the FLGISA Board, providing a voice for each district.
The Southeast District is comprised of 7 counties; Okeechobee, Saint Lucie, Martin, Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe.
SE District meetings are held twice per year, mid-way between the Annual conference and the winter conference. Since the geographical span of the SE District is quite large, meetings are held in the northern area in the fall and in the southern district area in the spring. Meetings are great opportunities to network with other agencies, learning from each other and finding support when facing the same challenges.
