The FLGISA provides enhanced networking and support through its six districts. Each district is led by an elected District Director who coordinates regional meetings and training throughout the year. Directors serve on the FLGISA Board, providing a voice for each district.

Greetings SWFL District,

We've all experienced an eventful summer to say the least in this District. I want to thank all those who reached out to help before, during, and after Irma and more importantly, extend best wishes to all of those who were adversely affected.

We'd like to set our sights on getting everyone together in exactly four weeks on Wednesday November 15th, from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM, for our Fall District meeting. We will be sending out a meeting request later today to get this event on your calendars; so stay please tuned. Our sincere thanks to our VP, Ray Desjardins, for graciously offering the use of the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center, located at 75 Taylor St, in Punta Gorda. It's a terrific venue and keeps us closer to the physical center of the district.

We are currently working on an a complete agenda and will send it along soon. Some working topics (yet to be finalized) are:

-- Official ushering in of Ken Watson as our Deputy Director for the SW District
-- Meet and welcome three new jurisdictional members
-- Lessons learned/roundtable discussion about Irma or other disaster prep/recovery topics
-- What's new with 5G (presentation)

Of course, your suggestions are most welcomed to make this time as relevant as possible to all.

A box lunch will be provided. Please advise me if you have any dietary restrictions or would like either a vegetarian or vegan lunch.

We look forward to seeing all of you there!

Sincerely,
Chris Bald, CGCIO
Southwest District Director, FLGISA

Ken Watson
